OONAGH STAERK

Oonagh-Staerckmain_image

Inspired largely by my wild, country surroundings, Aesmo was born to create calming spaces. I wanted to immortalise the things which brought significant moments of peace and restfulness to an over-active, anxiety-fuelled world. Those moments of peace for me are life, texture and light; which I try to encompass in each piece I create.

Although my working method is digital, I aim to reflect the natural world by using only colours that you would observe in nature itself. Colour is used carefully and deliberately to create a welcoming environment for each illustrated subject. I tend to lean towards warmer neutrals, and earthy, beachy hues.

You’ll mostly find plants, beach life and animals as my main muse. Especially birds. I just love their sweet, delicate elegance! Not geese though.

Thanks so much for perusing my virtual Open Studio this year, it is my first one (real and virtual!) so I am humbled that you are continuing to spend your time here despite not being able to have a nosy in person.

My name is Oonagh and I am the owner of Aesmo, where I create mindful, minimalist prints and paper goods depicting all of my favourite elements of this joyous world.
