I’m an emerging multidisciplinary artist, poet and mother living in Hebden Bridge. I work with mixed media, abstract painting, drawing, film, spoken word and performance to explore my ideas. I regularly have poetry published, and lead popular poetry workshops at my studio. I’m particularly interested in female experiences relating to sexuality, rage, shame, and societal/capitalist pressure. Much of my writing draws inspiration from the brutality of the Calderdale landscape, growing up in a post-industrial town, folklore, myth and fragmented memory.
I am currently working on a durational performance piece titled BURN(OUT). This takes the form of film, an autobiographical depiction of my severance and burnout from the art world ten years ago. The performance is a study of female sexuality, endurance and catharsis, broken into three parts.
