Art is my life, I’m a full time Art and Design teacher as well as practicing as a visual artist. My work is varied and as eclectic as the world we live in. My inspiration is taken from the natural patterns I find as I journey through. My choice of colours are drawn from the many flowers and foliage that grow near to my home. I love to work in textiles, paint and photography and the work I produce responds to the multi faceted experiences of life sometimes it can be a spoken word from a person or a book; it could be a feeling or a sensation, my ethos is for my work to grow and develop organically.
I have a curiosity for the unknown and ask the question, what if? I love to collect objects and have an affinity with anything that is old and odd; I find there is an untold beauty within – so flea markets are my heaven. I find harmony in mathematical and geometric patterns, when working in watercolours I believe that I’m an alchemist mixing paint with ink, salt, and rice – I love the way the colours pull and push to create beautiful and stunning textures, micro paintings within an overall narrative.
