I describe my work as eclectic as I like to explore many different ways of working, from figurative to abstract painting, painting derived from images or from ideas, mathematical patterns or pure responses to colour. I get particular joy from drawing ‘on the fly’, rapid drawing of people in bars, cafes, on the street etc. What this all adds up to is that I have a short attention span! I say I am easily distracted. What I really mean is that I like to keep exploring new things, try new ideas, perhaps some sculptural work or a different approach to landscape. Currently I am working on a series of bird drawings, placing them on maps of their habitat. While I am enjoying it I will keep going. If It starts to lose its freshness I will move on to something else. I wonder what that will be……..
