I am a painter, printmaker and stained glass artist. My practice is concerned with the ‘stuff of colour’. As a student I remember the late Gillian Ayers’ remark ‘you’re a good colourist’. Since that time, I have maintained my love of colour. My work draws on references from texts and poems, landscape and the natural world. I was born in Gravesend, Kent and grew up along the southeast coast. I now live and work in West Yorkshire. I gained a degree in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art and later completed an MA in Printmaking at Bradford School of Art.
Working with stained glass, I am working with coloured light. As my fine art practice explores colour this lead me to working with stained glass. I use the traditional lead came method. I have been making leaded lights for over thirty years. I am able to make works to commission and am happy to take enquiries.
I currently run stained glass workshops at Craven College, Skipton and in Hebden Bridge. If you are interested in my workshops that I run at Linden Mill, please contact me for further details.
