I’ve loved taking pictures for as long as I remember, but it wasn’t until I moved to Calderdale that I started taking more interest in the landscapes right on my doorstep. Nowadays I get out and about as much as I can, sometimes on foot, sometimes cycling, and a few times each year with a tent on my back, but always taking a camera with me.
I don’t get particularly technical with my photography and prefer to travel light, so all my shots are hand-held and without using filters. I’ve never been too bothered about technical perfection in a photograph – it’s the overall mood of an everyday scene that really catches my eye. Most of all, I just love to capture natural light, or the lack of it.
