I am a textile artist who weaves and spins and uses recycled materials to create woven and stitched pieces. My textile art has its beginnings in the natural world. It is a tactile, vibrant snapshot of a memory of place. It does not attempt to represent reality but creates an idea of that natural space and the landscape. Each piece is made using my own spinning, dyeing and weaving skills. I am based in my studio at Steep Lane Baptist Chapel in Sowerby village where I also teach these heritage skills. I am the founder of the WoollyArt Club.
