My mixed media art combines found and made textures with text and pattern. The papers, shapes and symbols are layered and stitched together to create pieces which capture a sense of place, time or season. The resulting assemblages have a feel of hidden treasures , worn by time often with messages of hope.
I have been a member of the Sketchbook Circle for over 10 years (www.sketchbookcircle.com); the circle  is a collaborative, year-long project where participants (primarily artist educators) pass sketchbooks between each other on a monthly basis to encourage educators to commit time to their personal art-making alongside their busy professional lives.
I am Head of Art and Photography at Ryburn Valley Highschool and I teach all aspects of Art, Craft and Design and am available to deliver workshops in mixed media art, sketchbook techniques, drawing, print making amongst other techniques.
